Yelo appeared at CIOE in September 2016 for the fifth consecutive year to promote their solutions for automated high volume burn-in and test for 100G networks.

In attendance for Yelo was Martin Collins (Sales), Dylan J. Burke (Marketing) and Jimmy Lee (Engineering).

Yelo’s new Marketing Coordinator Dylan J. Burke had this to say, “There was a real buzz about the show, and you could really sense that the Photonics industry is getting exciting about 100G networks and that everyone wants a piece of that market.

I believe that this market is going to be bigger than anyone is expecting due to the fact that we are in a generation where more people will be using social media sites and apps to share their videos, pictures, virtual reality experiences and live streams. All of this requires faster network speeds and greater bandwidth. Future generations will continue to be brought up in the digital age of social media which means we will continue to require greater bandwidth and network speed in the future – this creates a lot of problems for the companies involved in the industry in terms of how they can scale up to meet the huge volumes that will be required and how they can automate the process e.g. the assembly, packaging and testing of the optical components required to do that.

The exciting thing is that it opens the door to further opportunities for innovation within the industry and it’s definitely an industry that will continue to grow and develop as customer needs evolve.

We had a lot of visitors at our booth this year and I think that is because many photonic chip manufactures and end users of laser diodes are realizing the importance of automated test and burn in of their optical components and how it can speed up their time to market and ensure their product meets the requirements set in Telcordia GR-468".

Yelo's next tradeshow appearance will be at OFC in March 2017.
