Leading UK Test Engineering firm Yelo are set to exhibit at the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) trade fair this week, 10-13 September which is the world leading event that connects governments, national armed forces, industry thought leaders and the global defence & security supply chain.
On 13 June 2019, Yelo were presented with The Queen’s Award for Enterprise by Mrs. Joan Christie CVO OBE, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Antrim. The award recognises how, during the course of three consecutive financial years, Yelo saw an increase of 138% in its international trade.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Christie said “This is a very meaningful award and Her Majesty emphasises the importance of the staff to celebrate this great recognition as they are the ones who work and contribute to making Yelo a success.” Presenting her last ever Queen’s Award Mrs. Christie went on to say a big congratulations and thank you to the Managing Director of Yelo, Richard Furey. “Every organisation needs a strong leader and it is someone’s individual ability, creation and vision that produce a wonderful employer like Yelo”.
Yelo employs over 50 people in Carrickfergus and export’s it products to United States, China and Europe. The company develops testing equipment for lasers and electronic products.
Also speaking at the event, Sammy Wilson MP emphasized that “SME’s are the drivers of our economy. Yelo are a great example of a company that have moved away from traditional manufacturing towards manufacturing of the 21st century. It’s great to celebrate a success story of people who come to work every day, dedicated to growing the company, proud of the work they do and who not only make a success of the company, but help make a success of the country.”
Testing company Yelo will be showcasing its high power laser diode burn-in and life test solutions at Laser World of Photonics next month (24-27 June) in Munich.
As the industry’s leading trade fair, LASER World of PHOTONICS attracts more than 1,300 international exhibitors, which are the most important stakeholders in the field of photonics. The last exhibition in 2017 saw over 32,000 international visitors.
Yelo, which has been in operation since 1983 has developed an efficient and cutting edge solution for testing laser diodes. The 2019 show is expected to have its biggest turn out yet.
Yelo's VP Sales and Marketing Martin Collins said, "Laser Munich is one of our biggest shows for high power burn-in and we always enjoy engaging with new and existing customers at the show. We are hoping to return with some new leads and some new potential suppliers".
